Still a prob, though the verifications have spread out a bit. Was prompted to verify again yesterday. I've now got 6 instances of the same machine on my Devices page -- two are properly identified (w machine name and serial # -- maybe bc I sign in under my daughter's account to d/l apps?), and four that just identify as PC.

I ran the Troubleshoot Microsoft Account Issues app. It said installed apps have sync turned off and that I've reached the daily sync quota (at 8:30 am local time?). On complete, it indicated "Rootcauses found and created logs" ... I guess this is in relation to daily quota and app settings? I also noticed in the troubleshooting report it says "Turn on sync for individual sync settings - Open PC settings to turn on sync for individual settings" -- I did this, and all the Individual sync settings (under Accounts) are turned on, so .... ?

Just another update. Was prompted to update the last three days in a row, yesterday, I was prompted a little before 10 PM, then again this morning at around 9. Super annoying. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just an update on this issue ... I'm now being prompted twice a day some days. Was prompted once Sunday 9/13, twice yesterday 9/14 around 9 am and 10 or 11 pm, and twice (so far) today, around 8:30 am (on start-up), and at 12:50 pm. All EST, if it makes a difference.

Also, I'm now up to 4 generic PCs on my devices list (I'd deleted them all on the 26th), so it appears not every verification adds a device.

Any help anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated. So annoyed.

Sad to know that I'm not the only one with this problem. I installed Windows 10 on many devices, but only on my notebook this problem exist.

I wrote 2 subject about that. No answer found.

I posted something similar in this post from someone with the same issue: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-security/windows-10-asks-for-credentials-to-be-verified/2587e06c-9387-4cd8-b1cf-317d328415b1?page=2&tm=1444335606691

My problem is very consistent.  Every day I must reverify my Microsoft account on my Surface Pro 3.  This only seems to happen when my Surface Pro 3 is joined to my work domain.  I have tried keeping my MSA and domain accounts separate, and with my MSA attached to my domain account, it happens in both cases.  I have other devices in my organization without this problem.  Until my account is verified, my modern apps don't work.  After verifying, a new device is added to my store account.  Some are added with the machine name, some just say PC.  After I have 10 machines in my store account, I have to the delete all the surfaces so I can start over.  No changes have been made to the system.  This is a clean Windows 10 install, and it happens immediately after reinstall, joining the domain, and attaching my Microsoft account.   I didn't have this problem on my desktop through all the Windows 10 insider testing, and I put Windows 10 on my SP3 as soon as I got it so I don't know if it happens on Windows 8.  It doesn't happen on any other devices in my organization and seems to only happen on the SP3.  I am using the docking station.  I tried to call for support, but they refuse to help as it is connected to a domain, however, that seems to be the culprit.  We are a small organization and don't have a premier support account or SA with support.  I don't have group policies that should affect the MSA, and as I stated, I have other machines (in the same OU with the same GPOs) that don't have this problem.

I tried to use the troubleshooter, but it says a Microsoft account is required.  I am logged in using my domain account and my MSA is connected so I have store access.

I did some more testing and posted a reply in the other thread I mentioned.  I should restate, in case it wasn't clear: my issue is limited to the one Surface Pro 3 that I purchased for my organization.  I have other machines with docking stations and haven't seen this issue, but I'm not sure if they are used in the exact same way.  I don't know if anyone else has a dock, but I did notice something new last night and changed my behavior and it seems to be better.

I verified my credentials when I came to work in the morning, but when I took the SP3 home, I had to verify again. I have seen a post about the docking station and I decided to try something different today.

I have my docking station plugged into my 24"monitor, plus I have a second 24" monitor plugged into the DP port on the surface itself.  I leave the type cover open and the Surface is essentially a third screen.

At the end of the day I have been shutting down the Surface, then undocking and removing the second monitor.  When I go home I don't have the dock and it appears I have to verify again.  When I'm done with the Surface at home, I shut it down again, until I get to work the next day.  I come in to work, I dock the Surface and connect the second monitor, then turn it on.  When I log in, I have to verify.

Today, I turned on the Surface before docking it, logged in, then docked the Surface.  It has not asked me to verify.  I'm going to continue testing this way by undocking before shutting down.

My theory behind this new behavior is that Windows sees the SP3 dock as a significant hardware change.  This has been happening while the machine is shut down, and I guess Windows doesn't like that.  I'm going to make the hardware change while the machine is on so Windows will see the change.

I have a very similar problem. I suspect the docking station is involved as well. It appears that the Problem of verification comes only during transit between docked and undocked state. I also noticed that My Microsoft account adds a "pC" in the Devices section every time this happens. Perhaps that's an unrelated problem. I am hoping that a patch will be distributed by Microsoft.

Yeah, that is what is happening for me.  The PC in the devices section is part of the problem.  It appears Windows believes your hardware has changed.  It then asks you to verify your account and after you do that, you have a new device.  I have tried to mitigate the problem by only removing/connecting the dock while the SP3 is on and logged in.  While it has helped a lot, I still had to verify my account 3 days last week.  Interestingly, I had to verify my account over the weekend and, I don't use a dock at home.  I have 4 Surface Pro 4's coming at the end of the month with the new dock/hub thing.  Hopefully, those don't have the same problem.

It appears no one found a solution to this problem yet.

Yes, daily at least twice I am asked to verify my Microsoft credentials...  Maybe Microsoft is calling this a feature?

Add my vote to having this annoying problem that Microsoft seems to refuse to address for us. And Microsoft wonders why users like me are primarily Mac? My windows machine is for work purposes only...
